Update: Toms River Family Desperately Trying To Raise Funds To Save His Mother’s Home

October 14, 2021 08:55 pm

Achdus News recently reported a story about a Toms River man who was desperately trying to raise funds to save his mother’s home. A GoFundMe campaign was launched and posted on Patch.com, and the woman subsequently received over $34,000 collected by close to 600 donors. We are happy to report that this past Tuesday, the woman’s sons were able to go to the Toms River Town Hall and pay off the tax lien, as well as some utility bills that were owed from this past year. What a great display of care and unity!

From previous post:

Andrew Holden of Toms River is trying to raise $25,000 for his mother due to a property tax lien that was sold. His mother, Heather Stamatogiannis, became a widow at age 32 and raised 3 children, one of whom has down syndrome and epilepsy and can not walk or talk. Heather, 44, suffers from multiple medical issues that don’t allow her to work, including systemic lupus and fibromyalgia.

The company that purchased the lien is threatening to force them out of their home if they dont pay the lien and legal fees by Oct 15. Heather has been struggling to get the money due to COVID as well as her and her daughter’s medical issues.
