Ocean County voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, June 2, to participate in New Jersey’s Republican primary election, with several races drawing attention from residents throughout the county.
Running on the Republican Conservative Leadership ticket are Richard Tabor for United States Senate, Congressman Christopher Smith for the U.S. House of Representatives, Frank Sadeghi for Ocean County Commissioner, and Mitch Schwartz and Meir Kubie for Republican County Committee representatives in District 45.
Mitch Schwartz and Meir Kubie are well known to many local Toms River residents through their involvement with the Toms River Jewish Community Council (TRJCC), where both have dedicated significant time and effort to community advocacy and civic engagement.
The candidates have campaigned on a platform focused on maintaining stable taxes, supporting local police and fire departments, addressing concerns regarding overdevelopment, and preserving open space throughout Ocean County. Supporters say these issues are critical as the county continues to experience growth and increasing pressure on local infrastructure and services.
The County Committee plays an important role within the Republican Party by helping to shape local party leadership, support candidates, and represent the interests of Republican voters at the grassroots level. As a result, these races often have a significant impact on the future direction of local politics.
With Election Day approaching, candidates are encouraging residents to make their voices heard by participating in the primary process. Voters will have the opportunity to select the individuals they believe will best represent their values and priorities at the local, county, and federal levels.
Election Day is this Tuesday, June 2.
