Toms River Welcomes New Police Chief and Celebrates Promotions in Leadership

A momentous ceremony took place at Wednesday night’s Township Council meeting in Toms River, where Mayor Dan Rodrick officiated the promotions and swearing-in of 12 police officers.

 

Among those honored was Peter Sundack, who officially assumed the role of Chief of Police. Joining him in the ranks of leadership were Captain Guy Maire and Lieutenants Daniel Ruiz, Theodore Malony, and Andrew Chencharik. Newly elevated to the position of sergeant were Brian Appleby, Adam Worth, Matthew Crosta, and Nicholas Franco. Additionally, the department welcomed Taylor Boschetti, Christopher Serpico, and Hunter Calvetto as new patrol officers.

 

Mayor Rodrick praised Chief Sundack for his strong leadership and highlighted the significant strides the department has made, including the recent expansion of the police EMS program. This growth saw the addition of eight Civilian Safety Officers and several special police officers to bolster emergency response efforts.

 

The Toms River Police Department commended the dedication of the promoted and newly appointed officers, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring safety and building trust within the community.
