Toms River Shabbos Event to Support Lone Soldier Veterans and Their Families, Hosted By Avi & Rivkie Devor

January 15, 2025 09:54 pm

Nevut (Hebrew for “Navigation”) is an organization dedicated to supporting American Lone Soldier veterans who have served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). After completing their service, many of these soldiers return to the U.S. and struggle with the challenges of everyday life. Nevut steps in as their navigator, family, and constant support system, helping them adjust and thrive.

Founded in 2017 by Ari Abramowitz, a Lone Soldier veteran, Nevut was created after Abramowitz personally experienced the difficulties faced by fellow veterans upon returning home. Witnessing the lack of resources available to support these soldiers, he decided to establish an organization that would address these needs. Nevut is an organization built by Lone Soldiers, for Lone Soldiers.

Before October 7th, Nevut’s network supported approximately 900 veterans. Today, that number has grown to over 3,000. Of note, 50% of American soldiers who serve in the IDF return to the U.S. after their service, and Nevut is a vital resource for helping them navigate the transition back to civilian life.

By providing guidance, emotional support, and a network of resources, Nevut is committed to ensuring that Lone Soldier veterans and their families never face these challenges alone.

Since Oct 7, over 30,000 reservists and foreign volunteers have served. The number of soldiers returning from combat is unprecedented and it will keep growing.
