At a February 9th meeting, the Toms River Republican Township Council voted unanimously to denounce Governor Phil Murphy’s extensions of Covid-19 precautions.
A few days prior to the meeting, Mayor Mo Hill issued a statement accusing Governor Murphy of abusing his power by extending the state of emergency. Mayor Hill has frequently demonstrated dissatisfaction with the governor’s decision to restrict indoor dining and gyms, among other small businesses.
Contacted by email, Murphy’s office said it would not comment on pending legislation.
