During a ceremony at the Toms River Police Department, several law enforcement officers, as well as private citizens, were honored for their role in saving lives. These brave individuals helped perform CPR, offered lifesaving first aid, operated defibrillators, and spoke to mentally unstable people who were threatening to injure themselves and others. Samantha Batiatio, Jordan Finkle, Dominick Dowd, and Mitch Little among others were the awardees.
The incidents that led to these heroic life saving measures all took place in 2022, in the vicinity of Toms River. These brave individuals, who at times put their own lives on the line to assist others, were recognized by many Toms River officials and residents at the well-attended ceremony.
