The Toms River Animal Shelter is seeking small cages to house 22 rabbits removed from the backyard of a local resident. The rabbits were removed from a Harrison Road home and taken to an animal shelter. The shelter reached out to the public asking for Toms River residents to donate cages to house the animals. People hurried to donate Timothy hay, clip-on water bottles, and rabbit food as well. The rescued rabbits will be available for adoption beginning next week.
