Nagilla, founded by Mrs. Mindy Glanzman and Mrs. Shani Friedman, has become a quiet yet powerful support system for women who are widowed and navigating life’s challenges, offering not only practical help but also emotional connection and a sense of belonging. For many, the word “community” is used often—but for the women of Nagilla, it is something deeply felt. Now, Nagilla will once again be running its upcoming annual Art Show and Auction, Brushstrokes for Nagilla, a program that was co-founded by two Toms River residents: Mrs. Glanzman’s sister, Mrs. Debbie Smith, a dedicated realtor servicing the greater Lakewood area, and Mrs. Talya Zahler, a local artist. Through this venue, they are inviting the broader community to step inside their world and take part in something both meaningful and inspiring.
We once again sat down with representatives from Nagilla to better understand their mission, the growing needs they are addressing, and how this year’s event will once again be an incredible way of bringing the community together in support of their vital work.
