Plans are underway for significant updates to two local parks in Toms River, with a public hearing scheduled for Monday at 6 p.m. to discuss the proposals.
The meeting will focus on a project to construct an inclusive playground at Clifton Avenue Park. The proposed design aims to create a recreational space accessible to individuals of all abilities, going beyond the minimum requirements set by accessibility standards.
Additionally, improvements are being considered for Deer Hollow Park, which include the construction of a new playground, the renovation of basketball courts, and enhancements to the existing walking trail.
The hearing will take place in the L. Manuel Hirshblond meeting room on the second floor of Town Hall, located at 33 Washington Street. Residents are encouraged to attend and share their input.
For those unable to attend in person, written feedback can be submitted to the township engineer, John Mele, via email at jmele@tomsrivertownship.com.
Further details, including a public survey and an artist’s rendering of the proposed playground at Clifton Avenue Park, are available on the township’s website under the Green Acres Grants section.
