This week, Achdus Magazine speaks with Toms River resident Mrs. Micky Weisberger, together with Mrs. Marcy Forta, whose shared journey and dedication have led to the development of a groundbreaking educational program called Atzmi that has already reached thousands of girls across the globe. With workshops rooted in behavioral psychology and Torah hashkafa, they are bringing a much-needed message of self-worth, dignity, and true beauty into classrooms, homes, and communities.
Surrounded by constant messages from the world at large—promoting external perfection, viral diets, and unrealistic ideals of appearance—many young girls and women are silently grappling with self-image and self-worth. These pressures, often subtle but relentless, shape how they view themselves and their value. But while these issues are widespread, few are addressing them in a way that is both practical and deeply aligned with Torah values. Recognizing this urgent need, Mrs. Weisberger and Mrs. Forta decided to take action—laying the foundation for what would become a global movement.
We sat down with Mrs. Weisberger and Mrs. Forta to learn how a chance encounter in a small Michigan clothing store sparked a movement that is now inspiring girls and women around the world.
